Wood, a global engineering and consulting company, has been awarded the front-end engineering design (FEED) contract for the DeLa Express pipeline project. The pipeline will transport liquids-rich natural gas from the Permian Basin in West Texas to the U.S. Gulf Coast and international export markets.

The DeLa Express pipeline, being developed by DeLa Express LLC, a subsidiary of Moss Lake Partners LP, will transport approximately 2+ billion cubic feet per day (BCF/d) of natural gas and liquids.

Spanning 645 miles of 42-inch-diameter mainline and 139 miles of associated, the pipeline’s supply capacity is equivalent to Chicago's daily energy needs.

The project aims to reduce flaring and emissions in the Permian Basin, minimize environmental impact by transporting natural gas and liquids in a single mainline, and provide critical energy to major demand markets. The markets include Cameron Parish, Louisiana, which has North America’s largest LNG demand.

Jeremy Hall, Senior Vice President of Oil, Gas and New Energies Americas for Wood, stated that as demand for natural gas increases, “the project will provide a transformational answer to the strained existing pipeline capacity from the Permian Basin.”

Wood brings extensive experience to the DeLa Express project, having recently completed designs for several long-haul pipeline systems in the United States. The company has a strong track record in delivering engineering for complex natural gas pipeline systems and managing the FERC permitting process.
