Pipeline Service Provider T.D. Williamson Turns 100

T.D. Williamson (TDW), the global pipeline services provider, turned 100 on Jan. 2, 2020. The company will use the occasion to recognize how it has grown alongside the oil and gas industry, salute the people responsible for that growth and celebrate its partnerships with leading pipeline organizations.

ENTSOG and Gas Infrastructure Europe (GIE) publish new System Development Map

The European Network of Transmission System Operators for Gas (ENTSOG), in cooperation with Gas Infrastructure Europe (GIE), have published the eight edition of the System Development map, which illustrates existing and planned gas infrastructure and gas capacities.

Nord Stream 2 Construction stopped - Russia Counts on the EU

Following the US sanctions against the Nord Stream 2 pipeline and the halt of all remaining construction works, Russia now expects the European Union to find a way out of the situation. The EU has an interest in its own energy security at acceptable prices, said the Russian Vice-Chancellor Dmitry Kozak.

TurkStream to provide Serbia with Russian gas

Work on expanding the Turkish Stream pipeline to Serbia should be completed in the coming weeks. Russian President Vladimir Putin explained this at a meeting with his Serbian counterpart Aleksandar Vučić.

Putin said: "Serbia has been connected to the gas pipeline network, which is an extension of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline".

Energy Transfer Seeks To Double $3.8 billion Dakota Access Pipeline Capacity

Energy Transfer is ready to significantly increase the capacity of the Dakota Access oil pipeline by 500,000 barrels per day. And so on 13 November North Dakota's all republican regulatory body, otherwise known as the Public Service Commission (PSC), held a hearing before the pipeline's advocates and detractors and locals' opinions were split right down the middle.

Nordstream 2 Nearing Completion

Nordstream 2 appears to have overcome all obstacles to completion now that Denmark, the last European holdout, has agreed to cooperate.  The Danish Energy Agency issued a permit for the construction of the portion of Nord Stream 2 that passes through the Danish exclusive economic zone and work is expected to be completed during 2020.

Last Keystone XL Oil Spill The Last Straw?

Despite spilling more than 383,000 gallons of tar sands oil last month in North Dakota, TC Energy, the pipeline contractor behind the Keystone XL oil pipeline, is determined to resume operations.  Its decision has alarmed local Indian residents, who say the spill affected a nearby wetland while possibly reaching any groundwater below.

Saipem Secures $100 million Contract To Build Subsea Pipeline in Equatorial Guinea

The small west African country of Equatorial Guinea, boasting the continent's best infrastructure (all attributable to its relatively vast hydrocarbon wealth -  proven natural gas reserves estimated of 4.5 trillion cubic feet), has awarded Italy's Saipem a contract worth $90 - $100 million to build a 70km subsea pipeline connecting the Alen Platform with the Punta Europa petrochemical hub.

The Year Ends With a Flurry of Pipeline Construction in the US

Pipeline contractors can look back on year 2019 as a banner year. Of the 134 active gas pipeline construction projects 46 will be completed by year's end and natural gas pipeline capacity is expected to increase between 16 and 17 billion cubic feet per day, according to the U.S. Energy Information Agency (EIA).

Illegal Pipeline Tapping: 6 killed, 16 injured in Northern Egypt

An oil pipeline has exploded Wednesday in Egypt, killing and injuring multiple people. According to the authorities, at least six people were killed and 16 others injured. The victims are said to be oil thieves.

Keystone XL Pipeline Spills Hundreds of Thousands of Gallons of Tar Sands Oil

The subterranean Keystone XL Tar Sands Oil Pipeline has burst again spilling more than 400 000 gallons of heavy crude oil near the tiny community of Edinburg northwest of Grand Forks, North Dakota. The spill has impacted a wetland area, according to the North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality.
