The Tunisian Company of Electricity and Gas (STEG) has received authorization to construct a new gas pipeline named "Ghrabat-Ghardhab-Tataouine" that will connect the governorates of Tataouine and Médenine to the grid.

The project was approved by the Ministry of Industry, Mines, and Energy and published in the Official Journal of the Tunisian Republic on November 10.

The approval grants STEG indefinite authorization to build, lay, and operate the gas pipeline. However, the construction and operation of the pipeline must adhere to technical regulations and standards pertaining to environmental protection and public safety.

The anticipated new pipeline is expected to contribute to Tunisia's energy infrastructure and enhance the country's natural gas transportation capabilities.
