German Chancellor Dr. Angela Merkel reiterated this during her visit to Herrenknecht AG on October 7, 2019. On a tour of the plant premises, company founder and Chairman of the Board of Management Dr.- Ing. E.h. Martin Herrenknecht showed the Chancellor the tunnelling technology developed and manufactured by Herrenknecht to enable challenging projects.

Corinth Pipeworks wins Baltic Pipe offshore contract

Energinet has awarded a contract to Corinth Pipeworks S.A..  As part of the Danish offshore part (Energinet LOT1) of the Baltic Pipe pipeline the contract comprises 114km of steel pipes with three-layer polyethylene anti-corrosion coating weighing about 43.000 tonnes, epoxy lining and concrete weight coating.

Bilfinger and Akselos Form Partnership: Digital Twin of Complex Structural Assets for Near Real-Time Integrity Assessment

Industrial services provider Bilfinger and deep tech start-up Akselos have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to implement Akselos’ breakthrough Digital Twin technology for complex assets in the offshore and process industries. A digital replica of a large and complex asset’s civil structure ensures a near real-time assessment, based on its current integrity status.

New onshore drilling record set by PetroChina

According to PetroChina their Well No 1 in the Tarim Basin of Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region has reached a depth of 8,882 meters. This sets a new record for onshore drilling in Asia and confirms that China is operating on a high level of ultradeep drilling.
Drilling started in June 2018 and the objective was to find oil and gas formations in deeper areas.

T.D. Williamson and TRC Partner to Provide improved Services to Pipeline Operators

TRC has joined with T.D. Williamson (TDW) to support pipeline operators with safe, reliable and efficient services to get them in compliance with the new federal “Gas Mega Rule.” The Gas Mega Rule – the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration’s revisions to 49 CFR Parts 191 and 192 – are expected to go into effect in August.

Two companies are proposing a $1.6 billion pipeline to move North Dakota crude oil out of the state, making it the biggest project of this kind since the Dakota Access pipeline that sparked violent clashes between protesters and law enforcement in the past years.

ExxonMobil Proceeds with Argentina Expansion Project in Vaca Muerta Basin

ExxonMobil is proceeding with a long-term oil development in Argentina’s Bajo del Choique-La Invernada block. The project is expected to produce up to 55,000 oil-equivalent barrels per day within five years and will include 90 wells, a central production facility and export infrastructure connected to the Oldeval pipeline and refineries.
