Brigham McCown Named New President Of Alyeska Pipeline

Brigham A. McCown has become the next president of Alyeska Pipeline Service Company this month. The selection was announced by the TAPS Owners Committee.

McCown is the second company president hired as an Alyeska employee following Vice Admiral Thomas Barrett, USCG (Ret.), who was brought on in January 2011 and is retiring.

Permian Basin Production Slowing Down, Affecting Pipeline Tariffs and Operation

“New pipe start ups like Cactus II starting up and Epic in the summer have put us over the top on capacity,” said John Auers, executive vice president at energy consultant Turner Mason & Co. “Now, there is surplus capacity out of the Permian.”

Pipeline Technology Conference 2020: Dinner Location Fixed

The organizers of the upcoming 15th Annual Pipeline Technology Conference in Berlin, Germany have announced the location of the traditional conference dinner. This year conference participants are invited to visit the Trabrennbahn Mariendorf, one of the most successful harness racing tracks in Germany, hosting more than 650 races a year.

Norwegian Gas Supply To Europe Slumps

For over 20 years the Talking Heads in the European gas industry have predicted huge drops in the supply of Norwegian gas to the continent. The reason provided was that Norway's gas reservoirs were becoming depleted. This past year the prediction has come true, but not for the depletion of reservoirs.

Kinder Morgan Sells Interest in Pembina Pipeline

Houston-based Kinder Morgan has sold its Pembina Pipeline interest (25 million shares) for $764 million after taxes and the added cash will be used in its 2020 budget to reduce debt.  Kinder Morgan acquired the shares when Pembina bought Kinder Morgan Canada last August as part of a C$4.35 billion ($3.33 billion) deal.

The European Network of Transmission System Operators for Gas (ENTSOG), in cooperation with Gas Infrastructure Europe (GIE), have published the eight edition of the System Development map, which illustrates existing and planned gas infrastructure and gas capacities.
