Gasgrid, a Finnish gas transmission system operator, has awarded StreamTec Solutions AG (STS) a framework contract for Owners Engineering (OE) services to support the development of hydrogen pipeline infrastructure projects in the Baltic Sea region.

The four-year contract, with optional extensions, will focus on two key projects: Baltic Sea Hydrogen Collector (BHC) and Nordic Baltic Hydrogen Corridor (NBHC).

The Baltic Sea Hydrogen Collector (BHC) project aims to establish a vast offshore hydrogen pipeline network connecting Finland, Sweden, and Central Europe, facilitating the production and transportation of clean, sustainable hydrogen to meet Europe’s growing energy demands.

On the other hand, the Nordic-Baltic Hydrogen Corridor (NBHC) seeks to develop a hydrogen infrastructure connecting Finland to Germany via Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Poland by 2030.

These projects are crucial steps towards strengthening energy self-sufficiency and fostering the development of a hydrogen economy in Finland and the broader Baltic Sea region.
