ENTSOG and GIE have just released their updated System Capacity Map, providing a comprehensive overview of European gas infrastructure and market data.

The map, which was published Monday, January 13, includes historical gas demand and supply data for the period 2023-2024, aggregated from recent Summer and Winter Review Reports. It also gives an overview of import and transmission capacity data as of January 1, 2025.

Data on gas storage fill rates and LNG capacities presented in the detailed map were sourced from GIE's AGSI and ALSI platforms, respectively.

This edition of the map incorporates network grid projects also featured in the TYNDP2024, including new LNG terminals, with updates made to import cross-border points and existing network sections.

ENTSOG and GIE said they are committed to enhancing data transparency and accessibility with each map update.

According to Piotr Kuś, ENTSOG General Director, the combination of mapped gas infrastructure and detailed capacity data provides efficient and centralised information the gas industry can rely on. The information can also be used as a complementary tool when referring to the “ENTSOG Seasonal Outlooks’ methodology and the TYNDP 2024 mapped projects.”

Boyana Achovski, GIE Secretary General, emphasized the map's importance for transparency within the energy sector, adding that they “play a crucial role in securing a flexible supply of gas in the EU."

Achovski emphasized that the investments in the gas infrastructures made on Monday will spur the security of the gas supply in the short-term and boost the supply of other critical energy molecules in the long term.

The map is available in both print and digital formats from the ENTSOG website and the GIE website.
