Allseas has been awarded a major contract by Enbridge Offshore Facilities, LLC, to transport and install four deepwater crude oil and natural gas export systems in the central Gulf of Mexico, the company announced on Wednesday, Nov. 26.

This project aims to expand crucial transport capacity and strengthen subsea infrastructure for future energy production in the region.

The contract reinforces Allseas' long-term role in Gulf of Mexico infrastructure delivery, building on over three decades of support for the region's energy operators through offshore innovation and technical excellence.

According to the announcement, the strategic deepwater infrastructure project awarded by midstream operator Enbridge covers more than 515 kilometers of export pipelines originating in the deepwater Keathley Canyon area.

It includes 321 kilometers of 24-inch and 26-inch oil pipeline connecting to the Green Canyon 19 (GC19) platform, and 195 kilometers of 12-inch gas pipeline planned to feed into Enbridge’s Magnolia Gas Gathering System.

Each pipeline system will be installed in water depths up to 2,000 meters and will incorporate a 3-kilometer steel catenary riser (SCR) to link with floating production units. The systems are designed with multiple crossings, inline structures and termination assemblies to accommodate future tie-ins from nearby discoveries.

The offshore campaign will be executed by Allseas’ dynamically positioned pipelay vessel Solitaire between 2027 and 2028, utilizing its modified double-joint factory (DJF) suited for efficient S-lay pipelay in deepwater conditions.

Allsea’s award follows its extensive experience in the Gulf of Mexico, where the company has installed more than 8,000 kilometers of subsea pipeline.

The new pipelines will provide essential export capacity to meet the Gulf’s growing production and transport demands, supporting long-term regional growth for its clients.

Allsea’s latest award comes just weeks after the company was awarded a significant contract by Shell pipeline company to install the new Rome export pipeline to boost oil transport capacity in the US Gulf of Mexico.
