Corinth Pipeworks, the steel pipes division of Cenergy Holdings, has secured a contract from ONE-Dyas B.V. to supply High Frequency Welded (HFW) steel pipes for the N05-A platform located in the North Sea, Cenergy Holdings announced through a press release on Tuesday, March 28, 2023.

The platform is situated about 20 km north of the Ems estuary and will be powered entirely by renewable energy from the Riffgat wind farm, with the project aimed at reducing the environmental impact of natural gas production in accordance with the goals of the Paris Climate Agreement.

Under the contract, Corinth Pipeworks will manufacture approximately 16km of 20" diameter HFW pipeline, which will be externally coated with 3-layer polypropylene and concrete (cement) weight coating at the same location as the pipe manufacturing.

In addition, the pipeline will be certified according to ASME B31.12 option B certification code for hydrogen pipelines, supporting plans for future transportation of up to 100% hydrogen.

The green hydrogen will be produced by converting electricity from the wind farm and transported via pipelines to the onshore grid, reducing the environmental footprint of natural gas production and promoting the use of renewable energy sources such as offshore wind farms.

Corinth Pipeworks will manufacture the pipelines at its facility in Greece and is expected to deliver them by the end of 2023.
