Canadian National Energy Board Launches Online Pipeline Incident Map

The National Energy Board (NEB), Canada's pipeline regulator, has announced the development of an online interactive Pipeline Incident Map providing Canadians with the opportunity to view all pipeline incidents occurring in the country since 2008.

The innovative program places a premium on transparency and good governance. It is also believed that it will have positive implications for the safety of Canadians and the overall health of the Canadian environment.

The Pipeline Incident Map includes customizable filters and incident details including location, company, and volumes released to ensure that Canadians get the information they want, when and where they want it.

Updates to the map will occur quarterly, with the next update scheduled to take place in July 2015. Incident data may change over time. As incident investigations are completed or new information becomes available, records are updated and will be reflected on the online map.
