Applus+ in the United Arab Emirates has secured the renewal of a long-term offshore pipeline integrity contract with a leading UAE organization, extending the engagement for a further five years. This follows the successful delivery of the previous contract period and reflects continued confidence in Applus+ technical expertise and delivery capabilities.

The renewed contract includes a significantly expanded scope, and includes nitrogen supply, pumping spreads and associated equipment, mechanical cleaning, gauging, and In-Line Inspection (ILI) for both piggable and unpiggable pipelines.

A central feature of this project is the deployment of Applus+ proprietary DTI Trekscan technology. This free-swimming, bi-directional ILI tool is specifically designed to address the limitations of conventional inspection methods, particularly in pipelines with complex geometries and restricted access.

DTI Trekscan offers clear technical advantages through its accessibility, negotiability, and propulsion capabilities, enabling it to traverse challenging pipeline configurations, including back-to-back layouts and unpiggable sections. This allows for reliable inspection where traditional tools may not be deployable, supporting more comprehensive integrity assessment across the network.

All services will be delivered in-house, including mechanical cleaning equipment, nitrogen membrane units, pumping spreads, generators, compressors, and frac tanks. The availability of these resources within the UAE allows for flexible scheduling and execution in line with client requirements.

The contract will be delivered in close coordination with the client, maintaining strict adherence to HSE standards and KPI commitments. It supports ongoing efforts to monitor pipeline condition, manage integrity risks, and maintain asset reliability across offshore operations.
