46 Pipeline Technology Journal - 4/2024 RESEARCH • DEVELOPMENT • TECHNOLOGY For companies like SONATRACH, managing extensive pipeline networks, this methodology offers a practical solution for field repairs, reducing operational down- time and environmental impact. The proposed weld- ing procedure specification (WPS) tailored for thin- ner-wall pipelines will serve as a valuable guideline for maintaining the integrity of pipelines in challenging environments. Overall, the findings of this study con- tribute to advancing in-service welding practices, ena- bling safer and more efficient operations in the hydro- carbon transportation industry. 4.
