Before introducing my pipeline heroe, I must first acknowledge my wider engineering inspiration: Isambard Kingdom Brunel. Celebrated for his groundbreaking work on dockyards and his pioneering steamships, including the first propeller-driven transatlantic vessels, Brunel transformed Britain’s infrastructure. His bridges and tunnels still serve the public today, and the Great Western Railway (GWR) connected London to the Midlands, the South West, and much of Wales. Along this route, the famously level stretch between London and Bristol became known as “Brunel’s Billiard Table”, passing through Swindon, the home of T.D. Williamson UK. Through his prolific output, Brunel not only reshaped public transport but also elevated engineering into a distinct and celebrated profession.
