Editorial: Selamat datang!
This year marks a significant milestone for the pipeline community with the inaugural Pipeline Technology Conference Asia (ptc Asia), taking place from 11–13 November 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. ptc Asia promises to be a landmark event, offering a new regional forum for Southeast Asia’s pipeline sector and fostering collaboration among operators, engineers and technology providers. The conference will address regional priorities such as new offshore developments, carbon capture and storage, and the transition to sustainable energy infrastructure. Malaysia’s strategic position and dynamic energy landscape make it the ideal host for this exciting expansion of the global ptc legacy.
As global energy demand grows and the transition to cleaner sources accelerates, offshore and subsea infrastructure play a pivotal role in ensuring secure, efficient, and sustainable energy delivery. The articles in this issue explore cutting-edge solutions for integrity management, highlight best practices in subsea construction and examine new materials that extend asset life and enhance safety. We also delve into the persistent challenge of inspecting hard-to-access sections, sharing insights into the latest technologies and methodologies that are reshaping the field.
While you explore this issue, we encourage you to engage deeply with the featured articles: From innovative approaches to subsea pipeline stability, to the latest in real-time leak detection, small sat sensor fusion, and cost-saving strain assessment techniques, through to pioneering in-line inspection technology and robust valve integrity management programs, each contribution addresses key challenges and evolving priorities facing the industry today.
We wish you an inspiring and insightful journey through this edition of the Pipeline Technology Journal and look forward to greeting you at ptc Asia, as we build a brighter future together.
Sincerely Yours,
