The ongoing repairs on the Iraq-Turkey pipeline raise new hopes for the resumption of oil exports from Nothern Iraq through Turkey, Iraq Oil Report explained in a news article published on Monday, April 1, 2024.

According to the report, Iraq has made significant progress on repairs to its section of the Iraq-Turkey Pipeline (ITP), potentially paving the way for a restart of crude oil exports from northern Iraq.

This new development could provide an alternative route that bypasses long-standing political disputes between Baghdad and the Kurdish region of Erbil. However, the precise timeline for completing the repairs remains uncertain.

Although some Iraqi oil officials claim the work is 80-90% complete and operations could start by early April, officials from the responsible company cautioned that a restart could still be months away.
